IBM Cognos BI Administration

Course Overview

The true power of a business analytics implementation like IBM Cognos BI comes from how well it interlocks with your existing data management infrastructure. The many moving pieces present in your environment must all communicate effectively and be optimized to one another in order to yield actionable insights into your mission critical metrics. IBM Cognos Administration enables you to diligently oversee and maintain your Cognos system, adjusting it to your information ecosystem and ensuring that it continually adapts to any changes that occur.

Ironside’s three-day Cognos Administration course empowers new system administrators to manage both the content existing inside Cognos and the servers that provide that content. By the end of this course, administrators will have an unobstructed view into all aspects of Cognos system management, from initial configuration through to security and maintenance.

Course Goals

  • Install and configure a full Cognos BI implementation
  • Connect Cognos to important data sources and maintain those connections
  • Manage deployment and control how users see and interact with Cognos tools and saved content

Each topic will be highlighted with in-depth workshops, Q&A sessions and tips and techniques drawn from over 15 plus years of cross industry experience.

Curriculum

The curriculum is based on the most recent version of IBM Cognos 10, and uses the sample data sources included in the IBM Cognos BI 10.2.2 Samples package.

For an even more enriching experience, the course content can be entirely customized to any customer’s environment, including, but not limited to the tutorials and workshops. All of our instructors are IBM Cognos certified server administrators.

In addition, they provide the benefit of having up to 15 years of real-world experience. Our manuals are aimed at self-study.
